Callaghan Art Studio & Gallery offers emerging artists and established artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in the beautiful coastal village of Hawks Nest NSW, Australia. Hawks Nest is a popular holiday destination and has visitors each weekend from Newcastle and Sydney as well as the districts further west.
The gallery offers a wonderful vehicle for painters, sculptors, photographers and community groups to exhibit their work. New and self-taught artists are welcome to exhibit. 'Outsiders', (those whose work may be a little controversial), are especially encouraged to exhibit.
The opening hours of the gallery are Thursday to Monday 10am – 3pmPublic Holidays(except Christmas Day & Boxing Day) 10am – 3pm. Other times by appointment.
The gallery does not guarantee sales but the staff will actively promote the work to give the artist’s exhibition every chance of success.
It is the responsibility of the Artist to insure their work. It is not a condition of exhibiting at the gallery.
The gallery has Public Liability Insurance and will not be responsible for any damage or theft of the artist’s work.
Gallery Sponsored Exhibitions (Gallery Commission)
From time to time the gallery will hold exhibitions of artists work that have submitted proposals to apply for such an exhibition. This type of exhibition is at no cost to the artist and are entirely sponsored by the gallery. These exhibitions can be innovative, provocative, themed or somewhat controversial and can consist of 8 to 16 pieces . At times the gallery will call for new artists and those new to exhibiting to apply for a gallery sponsored exhibition. There is no cost to the artist for this type of exhibition. A 20% commission on works sold will be held by the gallery. Proposals can be discussed with the gallery owner directly. Apply Here
Individual Exhibitors (an artist who only wants to show one or two peices).
The cost to show as an individual exhibitor is $20.00 per painting for three weeks for works no larger than1mtr x 1mtr. Works larger will be priced on application.The gallery collects 20% commission on any work that is sold. Apply Here
Solo Exhibitions Non Commission (an artist who has enough pieces for an exhibition and wants to hire out the entire gallery space).
1 week - $200 Includes gallery staff, advertising on website & facebook
2 weeks - $350 Includes gallery staff, advertising on website & facebook,assistance with invitation graphics,assistance with opening reception.
3 weeks - $500 Includes gallery staff, advertising on website & facebook,advertising and editorial in the Myall Coast Nota, invitation graphics,opening reception. Apply Here

Themed Exhibitions
The gallery, from time to time, will hold themed exhibitions. An entry fee will be charged and no commission will be taken by the gallery.
